The Reina Group are delighted to announce that we will shortly commence work on a predominantly underground innovatively sculptured dwelling in the heart of Kent. Working in association with Harry Barnes Construction and Hawkes Architecture this will be an unique and exciting project for the Reina Group adding to its impressive portfolio. We are to install all Under Floor Heating, Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) and hot & cold pipework to this subterranean home that looks like it belongs on Tracy Island (Thunderbirds).
This futuristic dwelling has made local and national news, with features in the Daily Mail and Kent Online. Headlines of "Eco-house will be hidden underground next to an Iron Age fort - walkers will be clueless to a £1.1m home, by Grand Designs architect burried beneath their feet".
Hawkes Architect’s aim is to create an underground eco-property so in tune with its surroundings that, once completed, it will be barely visible to passers-by, with the above-ground area restored to heathland habitat. The property will comprise of four spacious bedrooms, known as a PPS 7 new-build and is being constructed using state-of-the-art environmental building materials and techniques.
The project is being closely followed by Kevin McCloud and the Grand Designs team and is scheduled for completion in March 2018.
