Ellen Court project had its official opening this week

The Ellen Court project had its official opening this week, following a demolition and construction build, which began in June 2011 and was completed in May 2012 for East Kent Housing and Canterbury City Council. The scheme consisted of 16 self contained new properties and was a replacement for an existing housing scheme, not meeting current Decent Homes standards.

We were appointed as the Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor to form part of the project design team, consisting of local consultants. The Ellen Court project was a impressive Code Level 4 standard and was achieved by implementing innovative build methods, such as photovoltaic panels; triple glazed windows, high levels of insulation, mechanical ventilation heat recovery system, Sedbuk category A combination boilers and incorperating Lifetime Homes and Secured by Design standards.

The Reina Group also added value to the design and build process by providing their expertise in design and installation of category A boilers with under floor heating, coordinated with the mechanical ventilation and heat recovery system, for the main contractor Jenner Contractors from Folkestone.
